BEA HULLAN

She has been painting self-taught since 2000, with the protective help of now recognized artist friends. At first, her oil paintings were characterized by simple cubist lines, but this changed, and she developed an individual, specific style that cannot be limited, a picture within a picture style. Her great love, Lake Balaton, appears in her landscapes, but wine regions and the hills of Tuscany also appear. They typically have in common the representation of roads, the display of roads, and the search for roads. Her medium is oil on canvas.

“For the last 3 years, I have mainly been painting portraits of women. This is no accident. Social changes are a serious inspiration, traditional female characters are being replaced by new ones. Through portraits, I want to show female archetypes, female diversity, characters, and emotions. I do it right, when the viewers recognize me for themselves or for one of their friends or acquaintances in my work. I like that people associate different stories with most of the portraits in the exhibition. My goal is to tell stories beyond the beautiful portraits.”
